Toys from the Past Everywhere!

Alex found an old fire truck at Mitre 10!

Abi brought her Daddy's old teddy.

We put toy pictures into categories, old and new toys and talked about their history.

Mrs Ray brought in some stilts, elastics and a skipping rope that we loved to try.

Our other vintage things.

Games and a special Dolly.

Clever Sharing

Ocean is learning to play guitar and he very bravely shared a nursery rhyme, while we sang....very special!

Olivia shared with us the neat little instrument her Mum brought back from Bali.  She also brought in an old family video from when her Nanny was a baby.  It was very interesting to compare the past to now! The boys loved the old cars and the girls loved the dolls pram.

Tayla brought in a birds nest that came from a 70 year old tree.  It was made of made and sticks and very clever!

Silouette Art

On Friday we made some vintage silhouettes using old book paper, a template and Indian ink.  We were so careful and love how they turned out.

Paper Planes

For writing on Wednesday some of the children in our class became the experts and taught the others how to make a paper plane.  After making them we had a throwing competition to see who could through it the furthest.  Olivia won with her zoomy dart.  Next we looked at a neat photo by Zev Hoover and wrote our stories about our experience.

Term 4!!

Welcome back to Term 4!!  We are very excited about all the exciting learning that will happen this term.  A notice went home today to inform you about this.
Welcome to Alex who has joined our room from Bucklands Beach!

We really enjoyed playing holiday charades today.  We had to act out our favourite part of our holiday ,with no talking, while the class guessed.  We then wrote about our holidays.
