Welcome to our class blog for 2015. We are a class of Year 1 students, we are excited to share our learning with you. Please leave us comments to make our blog come to life!
Olivia shared with us the neat little instrument her Mum brought back from Bali. She also brought in an old family video from when her Nanny was a baby. It was very interesting to compare the past to now! The boys loved the old cars and the girls loved the dolls pram.
Tayla brought in a birds nest that came from a 70 year old tree. It was made of made and sticks and very clever!
Today was Room 9 and Room 3's turn to run our school assembly. We shared some of our fabulous holiday recipes (below) and our growth art from last term. Mrs Ray was SO proud of us and the school was too.

For writing on Wednesday some of the children in our class became the experts and taught the others how to make a paper plane. After making them we had a throwing competition to see who could through it the furthest. Olivia won with her zoomy dart. Next we looked at a neat photo by Zev Hoover and wrote our stories about our experience.
Yesterday we began this terms inquiry 'Change' by asking two questions: What is change? and What do we know about the olden days? This is what we came up with:

Welcome to Alex who has joined our room from Bucklands Beach!
We really enjoyed playing holiday charades today. We had to act out our favourite part of our holiday ,with no talking, while the class guessed. We then wrote about our holidays.
On the last Friday of term we celebrated Jake's 6th birthday and a PJ day, for achieving our personal goals we set at the start of the term. We had a special day making huts, watching a movie and a special treat for lunch from Mrs Ray. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
